This one is offered in five, sized to fit 60 by 40mm, 60 by 60mm, 80 by 80mm, 90 by 90mm and 100 by 100mm posts, which is what makes it suitable for rod mat fencing and metal post systems where the section is precise and a generic cap simply will not sit properly.

The fitting is solar powered and automatic. It gathers light through the day and illuminates at dusk without any electrical connection, so it can be used on a boundary fence a long way from any supply. Eight LEDs sit behind a transparent housing, giving an even warm white glow rather than a single hard point of light.

Construction is ABS and PVC in black, rated IP65 so it can stay out through rain, snow and summer heat. The finished effect is a black cap in daylight that becomes a soft glowing head after dark.

Choosing the Right Size

The size is the whole point of this listing, so it is worth measuring before ordering rather than estimating. The options cover 60 by 40mm, 60 by 60mm, 80 by 80mm, 90 by 90mm and 100 by 100mm posts, which between them cover the great majority of rod mat and square section fence posts.

A cap that matches the post section sits flush and looks like part of the fence system. One that is slightly too large leaves a visible lip and collects water; one that is too small will not seat at all. Measuring the outside of the post at the top, rather than working from the size the fence was sold as, is the reliable approach.

Lighting & Atmosphere

The warm white output is the right choice for a garden boundary. It gives a soft, welcoming glow that suits a patio, a pathway or a garden seen from the house, and it flatters timber, brick and planting in a way that cooler white light does not.

Eight LEDs behind a transparent housing spread the light through the whole head instead of concentrating it. Along a fence line of matching posts, that produces a row of evenly glowing caps that traces the boundary, which is far more effective at showing the shape of a garden than one or two brighter fittings.

Installation Options

Three fixing methods are supported: screws, double-sided tape or glue. That flexibility matters on modern fence systems, where drilling a coated metal post can break the finish and start corrosion. Tape or adhesive avoids that entirely and is often the better choice on powder-coated or galvanised posts.

Screws remain the more secure option on timber, or in an exposed position where wind loading is a consideration. In either case no drilling into the fence structure is strictly necessary, and no electrical work is involved at all.

Where It Works Best

This suits rod mat and square post garden fencing, deck posts, patio boundaries, pathways, driveways and gate posts. Because it is IP65 rated it can be used in fully exposed positions rather than only under cover, and because it is self-contained it works equally well on a boundary at the far end of a garden.

The one condition is sunlight. The panel sits on the top of the cap, so posts with clear sky above them perform well and posts shaded by trees, hedging or buildings will charge slowly and run for less time. On a long fence that passes through both, expect a visible difference between the sunny and shaded sections.

Practical Use

Once fitted, the light needs nothing day to day. It charges through daylight, comes on at dusk and goes off in the morning. The main maintenance is keeping the top surface clean, since dust, pollen, leaf debris and splashes from mowing build up on a panel this size quickly and reduce the charge going into the battery.

Each unit is supplied as one black transparent pillar headlight, so the quantity should be matched to the number of posts you intend to light.

Five sizes to fit 60x40, 60x60, 80x80, 90x90 and 100x100mm fence posts

Designed for rod mat fencing and square section posts

Eight LEDs producing an even warm white glow

Solar powered, illuminating automatically at dusk

IP65 rated ABS and PVC housing in black

Fixes with screws, double-sided tape or glue, with no drilling required

No wiring or electrical connection needed

Supplied as one pillar headlight per unit

https://elumalighting.store/products/solar-led-post-cap-light-outdoor-waterproof-for-fence-deck-ip65-garden-patio-pathway-security-lighting
